Import Export (IE) Code is issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Ministry of Commerce and Industries, Government of India. All business engaged in import and export of goods required IEC code.
Importer's Bank requires IE code for sending money abroad, Exporter's Bank requires IE code for receiving money from abroad. IE code is required to be mentioned in shopment if goods and for taking export benefits from DGFT, customs, Export Promotion Council. IEC Registration can be done through VyaparFormations in Bengaluru and accross India.
Things to know on Import Export Code (IEC Code)
IEC is a 10-digit code and is issued for lifetime and requires no renewal.
IEC code is valid all over the country.
Filings of transactions are not required.
